Dolores M. (Fix) Vondrashek, age 93, of Winona, was granted eternal rest on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Sauer Health Care in Winona.
She was born on June 15, 1931, in St. Charles, MN, to Anthony and Mary (Verdick) Fix. She graduated from the College of St. Teresa in Winona and earned a Master of Science Degree from Winona State University. Dolores taught for thirty-four years in schools in Duluth, Minneapolis, North St. Paul, Austin, and Winona.
She married Ronald Vondrashek in 1966, and they divorced in 1976.
Dolores enjoyed working in her flower garden, traveling the States and abroad, biking, walking, and reading. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, the Polish Cultural Institute and Museum, and of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Dolores is survived by her brother, Hilary (Diane) Fix; brother-in-law: Herbert Peter; nephews: Steven (Linda) Fix, Terrance (Carolyn) Squires, Walter (Sherry) Squires, Troy (Kristin) Fix, and Travis (Shawna) Fix; nieces: Sharon (Dana Busch) Fix, Rebecca Keeler, and Lisa Fix; as well as great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother and sister-in-law: Robert and Yvonne Fix; brother: Thomas Fix; sister and brother-in-law: Joan and Edward Squires; and a sister: Pauline Peter.
Graveside services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, September 23, 2024, at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Winona. Deacon Bill Keiper will officiate. Those wishing to attend, please meet at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home, 376 E. Sarnia St., Winona, by 10:45 AM for a procession to the cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the Polish Museum or to Winona Health Hospice Services.
