DOLORES M. KOLTER

Dolores M. Kolter, age 97, of Winona, died peacefully on Monday, January 18, 2016, at Sauer Healthcare.

She was born in Winona, MN, on September 12, 1918, to Stanislaus and Mary (Mlynczak) Muras.  In 1936, she graduated from Winona High School.

On September 4, 1943, she was united in marriage to Lambert “Kooky” S. Kolter, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church; he preceded her in death on September 15, 1975.

Dolores spent her working years at Leicht Press Bindery, Winona Country Club, The Main Tavern, and Piggly Wiggly.  Dolores and her husband, Lambert, also ran a confectionery store on Mankato Avenue.  She took great pride in her home and yard and also collected dolls and AVON.

Dolores is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her siblings, Anna, Harry, Virna, John, Edmund, Gregory, Hubert, Florian, Daniel, Henry, Cecilia, Alexander, and Edward.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:30 AM, on Thursday, January 21, 2016, at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka. The Reverend Monsignor Thomas J. Hargesheimer will officiate.

Dolores will be laid to rest at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 10 AM until 11 AM, on Thursday, January 21, 2016, at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka.  Following the visitation and prior to the Mass, the Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be held at 11 AM.

Pallbearers will be her great-nephews: Justin Barrientos, Jeffrey Dennis, Steven Dennis, Eric Mish, Rick Muras and Ray Schammel, Jr.
