DIANE MARIE STOW

Diane Marie Stow, age 79, of Winona, died on Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at St. Anne Extended Healthcare.

Diane was born July 21, 1937, in Winona, to Dominic and Geraldine (Wilkins) Galewski.  She married Donald Stow on June 12, 1971, at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, and they lived in Winona.  Don preceded her in death on May 2, 2002.

She was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis as a teenager, but managed to earn her nursing certificate and work at Winona General Hospital and later at Community Memorial Hospital in the surgery department (Second-North at CMH) for 30 years. She was a gracious and devoted nurse.

She and Donald had two children, Christine (Taylor) and Emily. She is survived by her children and three grandchildren – Evan Stow, and Giselle and Cole Santana. She is also survived by a sister, Nancy (Tom) Springer, Minnesota City, MN; and a brother, Jim (Anne) Galewski of Winona.  She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, twin sister Joane, and a sister Veronica.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 AM on Friday, January 13, 2017, in the Chapel of Our Lady at St. Anne Extended Healthcare.  The Reverend Robert P. Stamschror will officiate.  There will not be any visitation.

Diane will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, it is respectfully requested that any memorials be directed to your favorite charity.
