Debra Ann (Braatz) Moe, age 62, of Kellogg, MN, passed away Tuesday October 20, 2020, at her home after a battle with cancer.
Debra was born on September 13, 1958, in Winona, to Eldred and Helen (Luedtke) Braatz. Deb graduated from Lewiston High School in 1977, and was active in Band and Basketball, All-Conference in Volleyball, and was class president. Deb had two sons, John and Andy, whom she loved very much.
Deb was active for many years as a Sunday School Teacher at Central Lutheran Church, a Cub Scout Leader and a volunteer for her boys’ schools. In her early 30s, Deb returned to college at Winona State University and earned degrees in Education and Special Education, and later received her Master's Degree from St. Mary's University in Winona. She then spent the next 26 years teaching at the Winona Area Learning Center and Winona Middle School. Deb enjoyed sporting events, concerts, gardens, restaurants, museums and traveling. Deb will be remembered as a great mother to her sons, and a wonderful teacher to her students.
Debra is survived by her sons: John, Farmington; Andrew (Kate Bakke), Rosemount; granddaughter: Emery Bakke; partner: Jason Beyer, Winona; mother: Helen Braatz, Winona; and siblings: Sharon Snyder, Alpharetta, GA; Larry Braatz, Rochester; Sue Knudsen, Inver Grove Heights; Wayne Braatz, Rochester; and Lori Braatz, Winona. Debra was preceded in death by her father.
Debra will be laid to rest at the Lewiston Cemetery in Lewiston, MN.
The family would like to thank Mayo Clinic Hospice who assisted with Deb’s care.
