Deborah J. Pelowski

Deborah Jo Pelowski, 72, passed away at her home on October 21, 2024, in Winona, MN.

Deb was born at St. Joseph’s Hospital at 7:20 am on August 27, 1952, in St Paul, MN, to Robert Coey and Beverly Carlson. She grew up in Red Wing, MN where in 10th grade she met a resolute student, future teacher and politician; they married in 1970, and moved to Winona, MN, relatively soon thereafter.

Deb worked at Ben Franklin and Josten’s while still living in Red Wing. Upon moving to Winona, she worked at Hal Leonard Publishing, Norwest Bank, Merchants Bank, and the Winona State University Bookstore, which was her last job before retirement on April 29, 2014. Before working at WSU, she attended several classes there that she enjoyed tremendously.

Deb and her family were parishioners at St. Casimir’s Church for many years.

Deb is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Beverly; and her sisters, Sheryl and Mony.  She is survived by her husband, Gene Pelowski Jr.; her sons, Ryan James and Gene Paul; her daughter-in-law, Debra; her grandson, Nicholas; and her granddaughter, Abigail.

A celebration of Deb’s life will be held at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home, 376 E. Sarnia St., Winona, on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, from 1-4 pm, with a time of remembrance and sharing of memories at 3 pm.
