DAVID "DAVE" A. PRONDZINSKI

David “Dave” Prondzinski, 78, of Galesville, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at Gunderson Health System in La Crosse.

David was born January 10, 1939, in Winona, Minn., to Bernard and Evelyn (Malesytcki) Prondzinski.  He married Maxine Heaser on August 12, 1961. He graduated Cotter High School and Winona State University.  Special memories from those years include playing for Coach John Nett and participating in state tournaments.

For 39 years, Dave was a dedicated math teacher to junior high students.  He taught in Waukon, IA, Dover, MN, and spent most of his years in Trempealeau, WI.  He worked many summers at The Berry Patch in Trempealeau, WI.  For 25 years, he served as Town Supervisor for the Town of Trempealeau.  He spent many years volunteering at the food pantry and recycling center.  Family was important to Dave and he loved attending the sporting events of his children and grandchildren.  Watching baseball, especially the New York Yankees, was a joy as well as working on the farm with his John Deere tractors.  He also loved the occasional game of H-O-R-S-E of which he was undefeated.  Dave will be deeply missed by those who love him.

He is survived by his wife, Maxine M.; his children, Gary Prondzinski (Gretchen), Mark (Brenda) Prondzinski, Lori (Todd) Beck, and James Prondzinski; grandchildren, Jaclyn (Karl), Joshua, Kyle, Kaitlyn, Austin, Haley, Blake and (Sammi); great grandchildren, (Maeva), (Nash); his sister, Mary (Jim) Yahnke; his brother, Mike (Cathy) Prondzinski; his brother-in-law, Jim (Judy) Heaser, sister-in-law, Shari (Bill) Haack, sister-in-law, Elaine McLeod; and many nieces and nephews.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Evelyn (Malesytcki) Prondzinski and brother-in-law, John McLeod.

The Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be held at 1 PM on Sunday, July 23, 2017, at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home, with visitation following the Rosary until 4 PM.  Visitation will also be held at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka on Monday, July 24, 2017, from 9:30 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM.  The Reverend Monsignor Thomas J. Hargesheimer will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Cotter High School or Jimmy-V Foundation.
