Corey Bruce Linander 2/5/92 - 2/2/25
Corey was born in Winona on February 5, 1992. He was baptized that day as Jesus' Little Lamb and the Good Shepherd carried him all of his days.
He was a very sick little boy, the doctors said he wouldn't be here but a few short weeks. Little did we know...the Lord would put him here for years to come, to teach not only us, but the doctors as well. At every appointment, they were surprised to see Corey was still with us. They would say, "I can tell this little guy has been taken extremely good care of." As hard as we tried, we loved to hear that!
Corey's troubles demanded our time and attention, but what he gave us in return was the benefit of compassion and love that grew and spread. Grandma Ole kept him breathing through many nights until he grew stronger and needed no help breathing at all. His Aunties took full advantage of feeding time, which meant a bottle, a rocking chair and a nap. They grew to be his favorite nurses! His Aunts were fiercely protective, decided that he loved Elmo and dressed him in the best. Fierce as well, was his first Nurse Janina, she taught us all that Corey can go anywhere, do anything and enjoy his life! Auntie Jo believed he could quilt!
In 2007 Corey grew big enough to move to Rushford with 3 friends, Ryan, Tiffany and Terry. This new home became "thee place to be.” Nurses at his beck and call. His room being directly off the kitchen, where all the action was and the CHOCOLATE MILK!
Such great appreciation to his 2nd Family at Horseshoe Drive: the love and devotion that you have given this boy was reassuring and comforting. Love and thanks to Paula, his nurse from the start. And dearest Rebecca, truly devoted to his bedside always and to the end. To ALL of you who treated him as your own, Corey loved you!
Corey is survived by his mom, Renee and step-dad Roger, Aunt Requel Fuchsel, Aunt Mackenzie and Uncle Aaron Spitzer, Cousins: Tristan, Riley, Bella, Hazel, Henry, Meta; and Grandpa Bruce Linander. He is preceded in death by: Grandma Ole, Grandma Vivian and Great Grand Parents Honorary Pallbearers: Tristan, Riley, Bella, Hazel, Henry and Meta
