CHARLOTTE E. "CHARLEY" LISOWSKI
Charlotte E. “Charley” Lisowski, age 84, of Winona, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2016, in the comfort of her home with her children by her side.
She was born on August 6, 1931, in Winona, to Albert and Mary (Stampka) Lilla. Charley loved to tell stories about her childhood and growing up in Dodge, Wisconsin. She was united in marriage with Oscar A. Lisowski, Jr., on May 21, 1950, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Creek, WI. Oscar preceded her in death on April 15, 1997.
After graduating from Arcadia High School, Charley worked for the Winona Republican Herald Newspaper, sold TV signal door to door for what would later become Charter Communications, and she was also employed with Watkins in Winona. She then went on to work for many years in the photographic retouching department at Camera Art in Lewiston, and it was at Camera Art that she made many lasting friendships with her coworkers.
She will be remembered for her love of decorating for the holidays, doing crossword puzzles, and she was a voracious reader. Charley had an amazing photographic memory, and liked to let everyone know it! She also enjoyed music, dancing, anything chocolate, participating in all sports, and she had a strong belief in angels.
Charley’s family was very important to her. She looked forward to shopping trips with her daughter, and her grandsons were the apple of her eye. She was a loving wife, mom, and grandma who will be deeply missed.
Charley is lovingly survived by her son: Randy (Deborah) Lisowski; daughter: Jodi (John) Werner; grandsons: Zachary Lisowski, Aaron (Raina) Lisowski, Joseph Werner, and Matthew (Kristin) Werner; great-grandson: John-Paul Lisowski; sister: Alberta Kulas; a special nephew: Charles (Mary) Kulas; special friends: Mara Repinski and Beverly Ritter; a devoted caregiver: Misty Wieczorek; as well as many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and a brother-in-law: Joseph “Bud” Kulas.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 AM on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka. The Reverend William Kulas will officiate.
Charley will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home on Monday, March 14, 2016, from 6 PM until 8 PM, and at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, from 9:30 AM until the time of the Mass.
