CAROL J. (SOBOTTA) PIECHOWSKI

Carol J. (Sobotta) Piechowski, age 66, of Bluff Siding, WI, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2016, at St. Anne Extended Healthcare in Winona.

She was born on August 17, 1949, in Arcadia, WI, to Raymond and Doreen (Reay) Sobotta.  She married Robert R. “Bob” Piechowski on April 8, 1967, in Winona.  Bob preceded her in death on May 23, 2013.

Carol was employed for many years at Cytec-Fiberite in Winona.

She had a great love of animals, especially horses, and enjoyed time spent on her hobby farm.  As a member of the Root River Saddle Club, Carol looked forward to participating in trail rides in the Winona area, and traveling to the western United States to participate in rides.  Carol’s family was very important to her, and the love she had for her children and grandchildren gave her strength to face the many challenges that she had throughout her life.

Carol is survived by her children: Paul (Chris) Piechowski, Sparta, WI; and Mike (Kristen) Piechowski, Rushford, MN; grandchildren: Rainey, Willow, River, Finn, Piper, Memphis, and Macy; sister: Paulette Yeske, Winona; brother: Brian (Karen) Sobotta, Vancouver, WA; brother-in-law: David (Sandy) Piechowski, Buffalo City, WI; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Leon and Gerry Piechowski.

A celebration of Carol’s life will be held from 1 PM until 3 PM on Sunday, July 10, 2016, at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home.
