Carmen Lee (Carlin) Keister, age 87, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2021, with her daughter, Karin, at her side.
She was born in Bryan, OH, to George and Nora Carlin, on October 10, 1933. She graduated from Bryan High School in 1951. On September 10, 1955, she was united in marriage to Robert R. Keister at Fort Richardson in Anchorage, AK.
She attended Wartburg College, Waverly, IA, in 1953 and 1954. She attended and graduated from Winona State University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 1974. She taught grades 3 through 5 with District 861 in Winona, Minnesota from 1974 through 1993 until her retirement.
She is survived by her husband, Robert, and three children, Beth A. Keister of Golden Valley, MN, Bruce C. Keister (Martha), of Lyndon Station, WI, and Karin L. Althage (Curt), of Imperial, MO, and her grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Martin’s Lutheran Church, Winona, Minnesota.
A private funeral service to celebrate her earthly life and life-eternal with Jesus Christ, her Savior, will be held at Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home on July 22, 2021, in Winona, Minnesota, with Pastor William Flesch officiating.
Memorial gifts may be directed to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (Samaritan’s Purse) and cards may be mailed to 1455 West Broadway Street, Winona, MN, 55987, care of Beth Keister.
