BETTY JANE (WILK) SENTY

Betty Jane (Wilk) Senty, age 94, of Winona, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2017, at St. Anne Extended Healthcare.

She was born on September 13, 1923, in Herold, Buffalo County, WI, to Helmuth and Christena (Becker) Wilk. After graduating from Alma High School and the La Crosse Business College, Betty went to work for Selective Service during World War II at the Alma Courthouse.

Betty was united in marriage with LaVerne Senty on Novembr 29, 1947, at St. Martin’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winona, and enjoyed being a homemaker.  LaVerne preceded her in death on August 13, 2001.

She was an active member of St. Martin’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she was involved with Circle Hannah, Ladies Aid, the Funeral Lunch Committee, Social Ministry, and she enjoyed attending Bible study.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Tammy (Timothy) Palubicki, Winona; nieces and nephews: Deb Wilk, Winona; Lee Wilk, Baltimore, MD; Susan (Dennis) Ramsey, Norfolk, VA; Joy (Dave) Schmidtknecht, Fountain City, WI; Gene (Joyce) Glomski, Buffalo City, WI; a sister-in-law: Dorothy Wilk, Pittsfield, MA; as well as cousins, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and brothers: Warner and Stanley Wilk.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 AM until the funeral service at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at St. Martin’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.  The Reverend Richard A. Moore will officiate.

Betty will be laid to rest in the Buffalo City Public Cemetery in Buffalo City, WI.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorials be considered to St. Martin’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Winona Health Hospice, or to St. Anne Extended Healthcare.
