ANN R. WATKOWSKI
Ann R. Watkowski, age 70, of Winona, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2017, at Lake Winona Manor.
She was born on September 17, 1947, in Winona, to Joseph R. and Sheila (King) Watkowski, and was a graduate of Cotter High School.
Ann worked in the family business, the Watkowski Funeral Home in Winona, and was a member of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka, the Polish Museum, the Minnesota Marine Art Museum, and the Winona County History Center.
Ann is lovingly survived by her special friends and second family: Sharon, Denny, David, and Michael Woychek; special cousin: Fred and Sue Pehler and their family; second family: Susan and Richard Carter, and Jim and Linda Grupa; longtime friends: Karen, Bruce, Cathy H., and David S.; aunts: Barbara King and Lorraine Belter; as well as many cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Joseph P. Watkowski.
Ann will be celebrated as a wonderful, caring and generous friend to all who knew her. She is dearly loved, will be infinitely missed and forever remembered.
Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM on Friday, October 20, 2017, at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka. The Reverend Monsignor Thomas J. Hargesheimer, the Reverend Monsignor Roy E. Literski, and the Reverend Donald J. Lovas will concelebrate.
Ann will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Ann’s family would like to extend their thanks to Jackie and Michelle at the infusion clinic, and to the doctors and staff of Lake Winona Manor for the excellent care that she received.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and may be considered to the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka, St. Anne Extended Healthcare, Winona Area Catholic Schools, or to a charity of choice.
