Alita Linda Krause, 95, of Fountain City, WI, died on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Sauer Health Care in Winona, where she was well cared for.
Alita was born December 25, 1922, to Richard and Clara (Braatz) Krause, and she attended Fountain City Public School. Alita was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Fountain City, where she taught Sunday School, was a member of the women’s guild, and also sang in the choir for many years. Alita dedicated much of her life helping her parents on the home farm. After the death of her parents, she found employment at St. Michael’s Home in Fountain City, where she worked in different departments, the longest being the laundry, for 20 years. She never married.
Alita is survived by a sister-in-law, Shirley Krause, a brother-in-law, Paul Finner, and many nieces, nephews, and great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Fern Sommers, Violet Ruben, Iris Wachs, Corlynn Finner, her beloved twin sister Juanita, and brother, William R. Krause.
Visitation will be held from 3 PM until the funeral service at 4 PM on Friday, January 26, 2018, at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Fountain City. Pastor Greg Ferriss will officiate. Following the service, a luncheon will be served in the church basement.
Burial will be held in the spring at the Fountain City Public Cemetery.
