Alice Pozanc

Alice A. Pozanc, age 89, of Winona, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2020, at Lake Winona Manor.

She was born on February 20, 1931, in Winona, to Bernard and Lillian (Leibner) Sulla.  Alice attended St. Martin’s Lutheran School through 9th grade, and then graduated from Winona Senior High School in 1949. She was united in marriage with Harry Pozanc on February 23, 1952, in Winona.

Alice was employed at Sears from 1960-1969, and from 1969 to 1989 at Warehouse Market in Winona until her retirement.

Alice was baptized and confirmed at St. Martin’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she was a life-long member, and was active with its Circle Hannah.  She was also a member of the Sauer Healthcare Auxiliary, where she volunteered for many years.

Alice is survived by her husband, Harry, Winona; two daughters: Linda (Greg) Aichele, and Nancy Valentine, both of Winona; a granddaughter, Alexis (boyfriend, Joe) Valentine, Fairbanks, AK; as well as other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Dale Sulla.

Visitation will be held from 11:30 AM until the funeral service at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at St. Martin’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.  The Reverend Richard A. Moore will officiate.  Alice will be laid to rest in the spring at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Wilson.
