ADELINE W. JILK

Adeline W. Jilk, 98, of Winona passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017, at St. Anne Extended Healthcare in Winona.

Adeline was born to Elsie and Aaron Garinger in Winona on September 13, 1918.  She married Francis E. Jilk on November 28, 1936, and except for the first few years of her marriage, she lived in Winona 92 years.  Adeline was member of St. Martin's Evangelical Lutheran Church for 92 years.  Adeline enjoyed her family, her home, gardening and flowers. She was a garden club member in Winona for many years.  She also enjoyed crafts, needlepoint, crocheting and baking, especially Christmas cookies.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Francis E. Jilk in 1968; brothers: Gary Garinger and  Wally Garinger; sisters: Ethel Thompson, Grace Kosidowski, and Doris Dobberphul.

Adeline is survived by her children: F. Craig (Pat) Jilk, Naples, Florida; Bruce (Patti) Jilk, Afton, Minnesota; Susan (Charles) Tremain, Apple Valley, Minnesota; Jeffrey (Linda) Jilk, Payson, Arizona; and Lynda Carothers, Winona, Minnesota.  She is also survived by grandchildren, Jennifer Peters, Betsy Golden, Ross Jilk, Gwen Forcier, Emily Tremain, Annie Tremain, Lauren Bradfield, Christopher Carothers, and Kaitlyn Carothers. Her great-grandchildren include: Brittany Peters, Ryan Peters, Alexander Golden, Abigail Golden, Blake Golden, Isabel Jilk, Lily Jilk, Sophie Jilk, and Adeline Carothers.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Monday, April 10, 2017, at St. Martin's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winona.  The Reverend Richard A. Moore will officiate.

Adeline will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Memorials preferred to St. Anne's Extended Healthcare or St. Martin's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
